Why UV rays are harmful?

Exposure to UV rays can cause premature ageing of the skin and signs of sun damage such as wrinkles, leathery skin, liver spots, actinic keratosis, and solar elastosis. UV rays can also cause eye problems. They can cause the cornea (on the front of the eye) to become inflamed or burned. Do we need UV protection for our eyes? Unnecessary exposure to UV radiation over a brief period of time may lead to inflammation in your cornea. This is basically a ‘sunburn’ of the eye; and though the symptoms, which include red eyes, a gritty feeling in the eye, pain, and an increase of tears, are unpleasant, they are sympathetically short-term. However, long-term exposure can result in increasing the risk of individuals developing cataracts, retinal damage, Pterygia (visible growths on the eye) and macular degeneration. This is why we need to protect our eyes from these UV rays, the same way we use sunscreen to protect our skin. What are blue blocker lenses/glasses? Blue blocker lenses/glasses are designed to filter harmful blue-violet light that are commonly produced from digital screens like Mobiles, LEDs, laptops etc. Which lenses can be used for eyes protection?
